Programs and Services
PCIC has three main program areas: client services, community outreach and youth outreach. The goal of our services is to meet the varied needs of residents within our catchment area of Bloor Street West to Lake Ontario and Dovercourt Road to Parkside Drive.
Our client services include information and referral, problem solving, and help contacting government and community agencies. We have information on over 4000 community services in Toronto, including 400 local programs assisting our clients to find programming that best suits their needs. Additionally PCIC provides government forms for citizenship, immigration, pensions, subsidized housing, etc. and assistance in filling them out.
We also provide access to computers with word processing and internet.

Through the Youth Leaders In Parkdale initiative we provide leadership opportunities for youth and assist them in finding and preparing for local volunteer opportunities. Programs include a youth advisory group, employment fairs for youth, and group volunteer activities.

Outreach activities include workshops and educational presentations to community organizations and groups on issues of interest to them such as housing, citizenship, and government benefits and services. We also organize an annual community information fair for newcomers and develop other opportunities for local service agencies to network and share information.
